Homework

Homework is set to review and consolidate learning or encourage deliberate practice. Homework is set daily and increases in amount set as a pupil enters each year group with the expectation that they are completing at least 2-3 hours in year 10 and 3 hours plus in when in year 11.

Year 7 pupils initially complete all homework in school and are supported in prep sessions to do so including being instructed how to carry it out properly.  Eventually as they progress through year 7 they will be expected to complete more tasks at home.  It is advised that pupils also read quality books at home daily as part of good study habits and to increase literacy levels.
